About the Flagstaff High School Bands...
The Flagstaff High School Band program has a tradition of excellence that students, faculty, and community members alike show great pride in. Our mission is to provide a multi-tiered instrumental music education to our students that focuses on literacy, expression, and lifelong musicianship. The music faculty at Flagstaff High School works diligently to provide students with a variety of learning opportunities that reaches all types of musician.
From the Director's Podium:
How are we staying musical during COVID-19?
The Flagstaff High School Band is resilient in our efforts to bring instrumental music to our young musicians. During our virtual classroom time, we focus on making a social outlet for our students through the power of music. We want to ensure that students are not missing out on the important social time that usually presents itself heavily in a high school student's life. Our main goal is to provide a bit of self-care for our young musicians while learning some music along the way.
Students receive a daily Music Literacy Lesson, a rhythm training exercise, then some individual time to practice the assigned practice material for the day. We then end the class with a student-led social activity that leaves each day on a social and positive note.
The Flagstaff Band Program is not giving up on a 2020 marching band season! This year, the Flagstaff Eagle Pride Marching Band is proud to present We March On: A Socially Distanced Parade Series!
