The Flagstaff High School Theatrical Arts Department is an exciting program still in its youth! The program was founded under 5 years ago and has been growing at a rapid pace ever since. The FHS Theater Arts program now offers 2 sections of Intro to Theater Arts, Technical Theater, and an Advanced Acting Course for those looking to hone their skills beyond the Introductory classes.
The FHS Drama Club is the largest club on campus brining in roughly 80 members a year! This club is responsible for facilitating the after school opportunities including our Winter Straight Play, our Annual Cabaret, and our Spring Musical. The FHS Drama Club is extremely active in the FHS community by participating in pep assemblies, fundraising, weekly meetings, and community events!

Mr. Shayne SmithDirector of Theatrical Arts and BandsMr. Smith is in his 5th year as the Director of Theater Arts at Flagstaff High School and founded the program in 2016. Graduating with his Bachelor's in Music from Ashland University in 2016, Smith teaches all of the Theater Arts courses at FHS, directs the FHS Drama Club productions, and is the sponsor of Thespian Troupe 6910. Mr. Smith wears multiple hats in the Flagstaff community in both the music education and theater education world and was the 2020 Flagstaff Arts Council Viola Award recipient for Excellence in Education. Mr. Smith loves exploring new places with his tent and his German Shepard Rori in tow but is always eager to return to Flagstaff at the end of each trip.
